Iipm to Come Up With New Campuses

NEW CAMPUSES: Soon for IIPMThe Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) a management institute is contemplating to open up their, business school at Rajarhat.Speaking about their future plans in an award winning ceremony organised by this institute, Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, honorary dean IIPM said, “We are contemplating to open up 10 management schools in various states within India and plans are there to open up a business school at Rajarhat too.” The institute is planning to set up this business school in three acres of land near Rajarhat and plans are there to invest Rs 500 crore to set up 10 institutes in India.Meanwhile this institute today awarded the Surama Chaudhuri Memory International Award 2008, to four Bengali authors for their contribution in the field of literature, art and culture. The award was handed over to Atin Bandhyopadhyay for his novel Neelkantha Pakhir Khoje, Abul Bashar for his novel Phool Bou , Syed Mustafa Siraj for his novel Aleek Manush along with late Gourikishore Ghosh who was also honored posthumously for his novel Prem Nei. The award for late Gorikishore Ghosh was handed over to her wife . Every awardee received a citation and a gold medal apart from the prize money worth Rs 10 lakhs each.Along with this Gourikishore Ghosh Memorial Endowment as well as Barun Sengupta Ghosh Memorial Endowment Award has been created with the remaining fund to annually award talents in Bengali literature, as well as in Bengali Journalism with a prize of Rs 1 lakh each.After giving the award to the respective authors, Dr. M. K. Chaudhuri said, “The award has been named after my mother Late Surama Chaudhuri who always believed that students should get an opportunity to appreciate literature and culture.” Lauding the institute effort, Mr. Chaudhuri said, “This award had been instituted to honour all those connoisseurs who had excelled in literature and journalism and had stood for the sake of humanity through their writings.”
